\nFirst up\u2014rear disk and pad wear.<\/p>\n

\nA T=7MM disk, which is rare these days. New ones aren’t available anymore… There are some used ones that might work with the right PCD and center bore, but… the disk gets thinner too…
\n\u2022 Search for used ones
\n\u2022 Polish and reuse (though it exceeds the wear limit)<\/p>\n

\nThe intake manifold has been revived. Rubber parts really can’t be helped after all.
\nIf you plan to ride it long-term, it might be worth stocking up on those special rubber parts.<\/p>\n

\nA quick inspection. Looks good.<\/p>\n

\nAnd after replacing it, this bike is on standby.<\/p>\n

\nWell, the V4 carburettor is full of pipes… It’s a bit of work, but it’s much simpler than the VF1000R.<\/p>\n

Back then, a customer brought in a completely disassembled VF1000R carburettor and I had to assemble it\u2014honestly, that was rough.<\/p>\n

\nFirst, split it front and back, then left and right.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nI’m lazy about everything. Since it’s not visible, I skip polishing and clean it by hand instead.<\/p>\n

\nIt wasn’t that dirty to begin with, so it goes quickly.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nDue to linkage design, there are two types of starter valves. Interesting!<\/p>\n

\nIf starter valves are available, we replace them.<\/p>\n

\nPipe-related parts are replaced too. Only these four came out though…<\/p>\n

\nUgh, the SJ head snapped off because it’s old…<\/p>\n

\nWe’ll pull it out with an extractor. You don’t see these tools much anymore.<\/p>\n

\nThe vacuum piston you brought. The diameter and height are the same, but the vacuum hole size differs. For now we’ll install it and see how it runs.<\/p>\n

\nBomb kit back to standard. Not that the bomb kit is bad.<\/p>\n

\nThe cover is in pretty rough shape too.<\/p>\n

\nThis much should be fine, so we’ll reuse it.<\/p>\n
