\nToward the rear\u2014the wheel bearings are smooth and in good condition. The distance is in a good position. The damper is still holding up fine.<\/p>\n

\nDig it out and wipe it\u2014it comes clean.<\/p>\n

\nThe axle had no issues either.<\/p>\n

\nMoving on to the control systems. A quick spray from the outside works, but it’s nice to take things apart once in a while. Beyond just oiling, you can spot all sorts of things\u2014wear here, a torn boot there, brass pins getting loose\u2014all kinds of stuff to check.<\/p>\n

\nPedal and shift\u2014it’s a bit of work, but worth checking once in a while. Most people probably only take them off after a crash when they need replacing.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nThe side stand feels great when it moves smoothly.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nI clean the inside of the throttle sleeve and apply a thin coat of lubricant to the handlebar side. It’s more about rust prevention, or you could say a light surface treatment\u2014that’s plenty.<\/p>\n

\nI give the choke a light oiling too.<\/p>\n

\nSpark plug replaced, and the air filter is clean.<\/p>\n

\nBlowby is minimal\u2014reassuring.<\/p>\n

\nHardly anything was out of adjustment.<\/p>\n

\nOne of the exhaust pipe bolts was broken. Removing it takes considerable labor\u2014and it’s the innermost one on cylinder 3. Since a single loose bolt can cause vibration, I’m making a replacement from free-cutting SUS 303.<\/p>\n

\nConfirmed on cylinder 4. This will be fine.<\/p>\n
