\nSince it’s already in rough shape, it’s good to wipe down the center stand and the frame around the chain area.<\/p>\n

The trick to keeping things clean is to quickly wipe down spots as you notice them. That way dirt doesn’t accumulate as much.<\/p>\n

\nNow to the front. If you occasionally oil the speedometer cable and throttle cable, it won’t have a dramatic effect, but it might help.<\/p>\n

\nThe wheel bearings were replaced before. They’ve broken in and are in excellent condition.<\/p>\n

\nThe axle has no runout and is in good shape.<\/p>\n

\nFront calipers on both sides. They look a bit dusty, but they’re in good condition.<\/p>\n

\nAfter cleaning the calipers, I think it’s good to apply rust preventative oil to keep them moisturized.<\/p>\n

\nI steam-clean the pads. Since the bike is used in the rain, it’s better if they don’t get wet if possible. Steam dries them instantly.<\/p>\n

\nYou might want to dig out the holes about once every two years…<\/p>\n

\nBrake discs accumulate quite a bit of dust.<\/p>\n

\nLet’s get that fresh feeling back. After wiping, the brakes feel really weak. I think it’s good to brake a few more times to get them bedded in again.<\/p>\n

\nI’ll oil the seal area. Leftover fork oil works fine.<\/p>\n

\nThe upper part that doesn’t stroke, I wipe down with a thin coat of rust preventative oil. Let’s prevent rust.<\/p>\n
