\nIt’s in pretty sharp condition and corrosion is progressing.<\/p>\n

\nThe ETC antenna and lamp look bad, so I’ll relocate them.<\/p>\n

\nThe underbracket is also quite corroded.<\/p>\n

\nI thought warming it with a high-wattage soldering iron might help, but it was iffy.<\/p>\n

\nThe bearing condition wasn’t too bad.<\/p>\n

\nIf there are any burrs on the frame side, I’ll clean them up before replacing the race. Full visual inspection all around.<\/p>\n

\nWith this setup<\/p>\n

\nI’ll get a feel for how well the seal is working. Knowing this will make things easier down the road.
\nStiff\u2014I thought maybe it was over-tightened, but it turned out the seal was gripping really hard.<\/p>\n

If the seal contact and bearing contact aren’t right, play will develop. It’s good to keep this in mind too.<\/p>\n
