\nFirst up: fabricating a Watanabe coil bracket. The stock accessories have poor serviceability, so I’m improving it for my own benefit. I was just tack-welding away when the back side came out too far, so I’m grinding it down.<\/p>\n

\nWhen installed, it looks like this. Two bolts let you remove the entire coil assembly.
\nWhen you take it off, the nuts roll around\u2014kind of a bummer.<\/p>\n

\nThe wiring isn’t bundled, but it looks really clean. I think this could work on a KLM too.<\/p>\n

\nThe structure is very simple\u2014just bent and fitted with an anti-rotation tab. With a single-point mount, you need that anti-rotation feature for heavy components or it gets a bit sketchy.<\/p>\n

\nFrom here you can adjust the timing advance and rev limiter from the side.<\/p>\n

\nThe customer asked if there’s a way to remove the tank easily for carburettor tuning.<\/p>\n

After thinking about it all night, I figured this was the only way\u2026<\/p>\n

\nA very simple racing-style bracket.<\/p>\n

\nThat’s how it turned out. Since it’s on the underside, I wondered if I should flow it a bit more, but it’s surprisingly solid under its own weight\u2014very reassuring.<\/p>\n

Should be done by the end of the week. Just waiting on some small parts.<\/p>\n
