\nI pondered this for a while, then decided to start cooking with whatever materials I had in the refrigerator\u2014in other words, I’d use scrap materials on hand.
\nI made a hook that can catch and hold things.<\/p>\n

\nI’m using scrap material left over from a CB carrier project I started earlier. I bent an SUS304 round rod, 8 mm diameter, with a bender, and welded sections together where the length came up short.<\/p>\n

One piece would work, but since I’m using scrap material this time\u2026<\/p>\n

\nI tack-welded the patch from earlier\u2014that’s all that’s needed.<\/p>\n

\nA cotter pin keeps it from coming out. The hole diameter from the burring doesn’t match the round rod perfectly, but that’s because it’s scrap material\u2026<\/p>\n

\nIt hooks onto the main body to physically prevent the sheet metal from falling. Originally it was made for disassembling front forks. If I remove the shaft, I can convert it back to a fork tool anytime.<\/p>\n
