\nA stand with plenty of that cast-iron look. Well, this is what it is\u2014it’s original equipment.<\/p>\n

\nMachining for the inlay.<\/p>\n

\nAt this point the frame-side mounting was backwards\u2026 I didn’t notice until the next day when the switch wouldn’t fit. Yep.<\/p>\n

\nWell, it’s just a matter of grinding down the weld bead with a thin grinder right to the edge. Done.<\/p>\n

\nI would have liked the original spring positioned on the back\u2026 but since I basically can’t undo frame-side machining, I’m treating it as not an option.<\/p>\n

\nInstalled a toe cover I thought of last night.<\/p>\n

\nThen polished and finished. The GSF from the other day has a champagne-gold kind of finish, but this one has a slightly glossy matte silver look to it.<\/p>\n

\nPretty satisfied. It’s a small detail, but having clean feet really feels good.<\/p>\n

Of course I’m using a different spring, so it has a nice light, responsive feel.<\/p>\n
