\nToday we’re going to work on the carburetor.<\/p>\n

\nThe intake manifold was as hard as plastic, so it took some effort to remove.<\/p>\n

\nWith an angled screwdriver and a Phillips head, it comes right off.<\/p>\n

\nIt was already rock solid. We’re lucky parts are still coming out\u2014once the intake manifold gets stuck, it’s a real problem, so we recommend getting it done sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n

\nWe’ll give it a light cleaning and then check the inside.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s one of those cases where hardened parts broke. Frustrating stuff.<\/p>\n

\nThe hose is too stiff to pull out, so we’ll cut it and remove it.<\/p>\n

\nThe condition turned out to be better than expected.<\/p>\n

\nThe gasoline had deteriorated and fused the needle jet and needle together.<\/p>\n

\nWe carefully dissolved and separated them without forcing anything.<\/p>\n

\nThe bottom didn’t show much corrosion from deteriorated gasoline, which is good.<\/p>\n

\nThe float valve needs replacement this time. It won’t return\u2014we could make it return, but at this point it’s definitely a source of trouble.<\/p>\n

\nThe slide block is a critical part that isn’t sold individually.<\/p>\n

\nWe gave it a light polish and cleaned it up. There’s minimal wear and it’s in good condition.<\/p>\n

\nAfter polishing, the carburetor snaps right back together. Nice and crisp.<\/p>\n
