\nThe calipers are covered in brake dust, so we’ll give them a good cleaning.<\/p>\n

\nThese days, with the right tools, we can get things really clean. After caliper cleaning, a light coat of oil on the body keeps everything in great shape much longer.<\/p>\n

\nThe pads are getting low, so we’ll swap them out.<\/p>\n

\nWe’ll clean the disc too. Those wave discs are scary to touch\u2014you could cut your fingers just handling them.<\/p>\n

\nThe wheel bearing looks good\u2014position and rotation are fine.<\/p>\n

\nThe axle looks fine too. The rear tends to get pulled a bit and shows some runout.<\/p>\n

\nThe caliper mount uses bolts and nuts\u2014that’s unusual.
\nThe bolt shank is short and not locked, so we’ll swap it for an MDN bolt.<\/p>\n

\nMoving to the front\u2014it’s really recessed. Our tools won’t fit, so we’ll have to find a workaround.<\/p>\n

\nWe found a tall nut in the scrap corner, so we’ll weld it and use it as a substitute.<\/p>\n

\nThat worked out nicely.<\/p>\n

\nThe distance collar was rattling around, so we adjusted it.<\/p>\n

\nWe cleaned both sides thoroughly.<\/p>\n
