\nLet’s move on to the remaining work.<\/p>\n

\nToday is the remaining Deco-mainte work including the rear. The chain slider is a really satisfying spot to work on\u2014just wiping it down occasionally makes a big difference.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s nice when the chain pulls smoothly.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s covered in dust, but the condition isn’t bad.<\/p>\n

\nCleaning with a steam cleaner doesn’t use much water and the work goes very quickly.
\nIt degreases pretty well, so just spray some rust preventative oil on the surface and wipe it down\u2014it comes out shiny and clean.<\/p>\n

\nWe replaced the chain and sprockets too. DID\/Sunstar.
\nI checked the bearings, wiped the oil seal lip, and applied a light coat of NC100 grease.<\/p>\n

\nWhen both function and appearance improve, the owner will take better care of it too.
\nThat makes things easier for me next time around.<\/p>\n

\nI dug in and cleaned it the usual way.<\/p>\n

\nChecking the plate width for the chain replacement.<\/p>\n

\nThe fluid was clean.<\/p>\n

\nThe steam cleaner has been working overtime lately. It’s kind of like using steam to blow air, I guess?
\nIt might be good for cleaning filters like this.<\/p>\n

\nIt wasn’t very dirty, but it looks cleaner now.<\/p>\n

\nI checked the generator connector and applied contact cleaner.<\/p>\n
