\nWe’re continuing with water-cooled models with fairings.<\/p>\n

\nWe’ll wipe down the chain thoroughly to clean it. Opinions may differ, but I think if the surface plate rusts even though it’s still usable, it’s worth replacing.<\/p>\n

Replacing it and then applying rust protection to keep it clean and in good condition is also a great approach.<\/p>\n

\nRemove the fork dust seals and apply fork oil for lubrication.
\nThis also boosts rust protection. Surprisingly, if you apply it between the top and stem, wipe it off, and keep doing that, the fork stays in great condition.<\/p>\n

\nI recently got a steam cleaner, which I’ve been wanting for a while. Now I can clean the radiator and oil cooler a bit from the front.<\/p>\n

\nThe warm water isn’t under high pressure, so it should lift and wash away dirt. (Though it won’t get things amazingly clean.)<\/p>\n

\nIt works great for cleaning calipers too. You spray steam in this state, then brush it, and rinse with steam. It’s incredibly time-saving and uses almost no water, so it’s fantastic.<\/p>\n

\nSince we’re replacing the boots, we’ll leave them installed. If you’re not replacing them, remove them.<\/p>\n

\nAlways finish by applying rust-preventive oil. The parts are degreased at this point, so if you want to keep them clean, apply some oil.<\/p>\n

Black cast calipers look even nicer this way.<\/p>\n

\nI gave it a light steam. It cleans to a certain degree. Using detergent along with it would be even more effective.<\/p>\n

\nWhen dirt is just sitting on the surface, it comes right off.<\/p>\n

\nI really wanted to clean the disc easily, but it doesn’t work on the inside walls of the holes.
\nI’ll need to make a nozzle like an MJN\u2026<\/p>\n

\nIn many cases, you can’t clean the rear caliper or wheel without removing them.
\nNow I can clean by hand, which is fantastic. And no detergent needed.<\/p>\n

\nReplace the cap and label it with a label maker.<\/p>\n
