\nUgh, filthy. The O-ring is rock hard too.<\/p>\n

\nCleaning things up a bit before reassembly just feels better.<\/p>\n

\nLet’s level the shaft side too.<\/p>\n

\nThis is a good time to clean the inner parts, lubricate them, and put everything back together. The cable smells like really old oil.<\/p>\n

\nTime to change the engine oil. It wasn’t too badly contaminated, fortunately.<\/p>\n

\nChanging the fluid now. The rear is empty because we drained it during the hose work earlier.<\/p>\n

\nUsing a Honda relay turned out to be more work than expected\u2014I learned my lesson. The starter relay is M5, and there’s a partition plate that makes it pretty tricky; only the terminals fit in the opening.<\/p>\n
