\nPhillips head is a plus. At least it’s not already locked with thread-locker. And at least they’re not countersunk screws. Phillips countersunk screws with thread-locker are so stubborn they won’t come out\u2014it’s almost like harassment\u2026<\/p>\n

\nIntake manifolds like this will probably stop being supplied eventually. It might be better to replace it sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n

\nLet’s clean it up with an oil stone before assembly. The flanged hex bolt is steel.<\/p>\n

\nI thought about it various ways, but I replaced that fiber seal with an O-ring. I ordered several types for this, and found a really good one. Safe.<\/p>\n

\nHmm. The oil level sight glass is pretty rough. But even so, we can adjust the oil level plenty well.<\/p>\n

\nWe set the angle roughly, then check all four positions. Knowing how to visualize the oil level and whether there are any problems even with fuel flowing through gives peace of mind going forward.<\/p>\n

\nSuzuki has already discontinued this caliper. We’ll handle it with a Kawasaki unit.
\nIf the appearance is dirty and it needs an overhaul plus painting or anodizing, it’s sometimes actually faster to just buy a new one.<\/p>\n
