\nToday we’ll start from the rear. Using a wheel cover protects against any accidental damage and dramatically reduces the amount of care we need to take during the work.<\/p>\n

\nWe clean both the inside and outside thoroughly. Cleaning and lubrication go together. I’ve occasionally seen bikes that only get lubricated without cleaning, which leaves grease buildup and doesn’t actually lubricate inside.<\/p>\n

\nThe 3R and 5R bearings seem to get pressed and tighten up right away. Let’s adjust them.<\/p>\n

\nClean the bearing center thoroughly too. Bikes with lots of grease can get pretty dirty in there.<\/p>\n

\nDig into the disc rotor too. Debris comes right out.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s barely been ridden, so it’s nice and clean.<\/p>\n

\nWait a minute. This floating (bushed) caliper for the GSX-R1100 J through N is discontinued for all those model years. This should be the same, right? Let me measure again\u2014I’ll use the GSX-R750 GR71F instead.<\/p>\n
