\nWe lift it up with an under-tube stand and consider what to do about the rear suspension.
\nEven a stand, when designed with efficiency in mind, becomes convenient. Rather than a sloppy, shabby setup, it’s better to aim for a finish that will be cherished for years to come.<\/p>\n

\nIt seems to be leaking, or maybe not\u2026<\/p>\n

\nIt was the easy-removal type, which was a relief. Since it’s rod-out, we’ll level it as is and plan to replace the rear suspension going forward.<\/p>\n

\nWe polish the dirty parts too.<\/p>\n

\nWe polish and paint the springs as well.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s surprising how much parts shine when you polish them.<\/p>\n

\nHere’s one thing: lately I’ve been adjusting so I don’t pack too much work in, so it’s fine, but when it’s busy, I easily end up with ten bikes in a disassembled state.<\/p>\n

Some go in plastic bags, some in containers. But they get jumbled inside, and pulling out even one part is a hassle. Washing them is a hassle too.<\/p>\n

\nI prepare a box for each customer and sort them this way. They’re easy to retrieve, and since they’re separated by part, management is quick.<\/p>\n

Once the work is done, I remove the dividers, wipe them down, and reuse them. Since they’re polypropylene, they’re impact-resistant and extremely convenient.<\/p>\n

\nInterestingly, much of the world follows the A4 standard. Two of these boxes fit inside for storage.<\/p>\n

\nLine them up and it looks clean, and management is easy. Plus, you can use them over and over.
\nWhen people see a messy shop, they think, “How do they manage not to end up with missing or extra parts?”<\/p>\n
