\nThe CB1100 SC65 Plain only holds 14 liters. But I’m not about to buy the EX’s 17-liter tank… A half-gallon (1.9 liter) sub-tank for long-distance riding. This should give me peace of mind.<\/p>\n

\nFirst, I bend the pipe with a pipe bender. It’s possible to bend up to about 180 degrees.
\nWith the right tool, there’s no need to fill it with sand and bend it. You can bend it cleanly in an instant. Good tools really make a difference.<\/p>\n

\nI fabricate a collar and align the edges for welding. Perfect fit makes it easy.<\/p>\n

\nWelding complete. Since I didn’t use much gas, it’s pretty scorched.<\/p>\n

\nI cut out the plate that holds the tank, drill holes in it, and bend it.<\/p>\n

\nWelded it up. As always, my welding is a bit uneven. I should practice more, but I can’t do it every day…<\/p>\n

\nBasic assembly is complete.<\/p>\n

\nBy fixing a welded nut on the back, the bracket won’t fall off unless it breaks at the base.<\/p>\n

\nI ground it to remove the scorch marks. It looks nice and clean now.<\/p>\n

\nIt comes off with two M8 bolts, so it’s convenient to attach and detach.<\/p>\n

\nA really well-made part. It’s held with a quick-release band and has a key lock.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s locked in solid. Now I can even sell it to anyone who needs one for 1,000 yen per liter.<\/p>\n

\nWhen you lock it, it clicks into the hinge hole with a “pop!” and locks in place.<\/p>\n
