\nIt’s been a while since I’ve seen this. When you take it apart, you really wonder why they made the structure so complicated.<\/p>\n

\nQuick polish and reassembly, and we’re done. Glad we had the manual\u2014it really helped. There are specified clearance dimensions for the valve clearances, so pay attention to those.<\/p>\n

The tappet clearance appears to have been adjusted before, and there weren’t any major differences. I adjusted everything to the middle of the manual specification.
\nUnless things are really loose, I’ve rarely heard what people call “tappet noise that needs adjustment.” More often than not, it’s actually rocker arm wear noise.<\/p>\n
