\nBolt-on? If it’s just a matter of using what’s available, you could install it yourself, but when people request our help, we get surprisingly many orders. We laid out the bolts in reverse to account for the back side.<\/p>\n

\nThis outer diameter offset collar is standard, but it’s definitely showing signs of cracking.<\/p>\n

\nConfidence goes way up.<\/p>\n

\nWe cut the plate with a shear and knock off the corners with an R8 radius.
\nOnce you work with sheet metal this way, you really can’t go back to making it with a contour machine or belt sander.<\/p>\n

\nWe weld on bosses for band clamps on the top and bottom.
\nAfter a long time away from welding, the technique gets rusty and things don’t go as smoothly.<\/p>\n

\nWe can lighten it a bit, so we punch out a 45 mm hole. For sheet metal, punching is the standard approach.
\nYou can always drill more holes later. We don’t use hole saws for large outer diameters much\u2014they’re loud and dangerous.<\/p>\n

\nWe weld it to a plate we made earlier, and finally we can mount it.<\/p>\n

\nIf you’re just using double-sided tape, you could do it yourself.
\nWe’re still working out how to simplify the wiring.<\/p>\n
