\nLet’s modify and install the Akrapovic Silencer S-Y10SO11-HAP (for YZF-R1M).<\/p>\n

\nWe welded the TI silencer inlet at an angle for a clean installation.
\nThe inlet section isn’t visible under the cover anyway.<\/p>\n

\nOf course, we want the bracket to be floating.<\/p>\n

\nThere’s nowhere to hang the bracket and no existing modifications, so this bike gave us plenty of challenges.<\/p>\n

\nThe customer wanted a silencer cover, so we modified the stock cover.
\nA new one costs over 30,000 yen, so it seemed wasteful, but modifying the existing one is better than making a new one. Here’s how we cut it.<\/p>\n

\nWe also fabricated a carbon cover mounting bracket for easy removal and installation.
\nThe nuts won’t roll around, and since we bent them, no positioning is needed\u2014it’s a natural result. I often think about whether modifications that hurt serviceability are really the way to go.<\/p>\n

\nWe covered the existing bracket holes with push rivets. Lightweight, easy to remove with a push, convenient, and low-cost\u2014it’s the best solution.<\/p>\n

\nOnce we removed the sticker, it looks like it could be stock\u2014a sophisticated, mature finish that gets a perfect score.<\/p>\n
