\nLet’s move right along. Whoa! Take a closer look\u2014isn’t that titanium? We’ll weld the muffler-side flange nut to secure it. The argon is really running low again… I really need to order more soon.<\/p>\n

\nPiercing a hole and flaring isn’t the only way to flare. The largest rib at the very back gets flared first with a large flaring tool, and then we cut out the sheet. There are all sorts of techniques to use.<\/p>\n

\nSince the sheet alone couldn’t cover everything, we bent a round bar and welded it on. To avoid marring the appearance, we kept it simple and didn’t let the back bead show.<\/p>\n

\nThen we installed it and we’re done. Since it points quite far down, it turned out surprisingly understated, I think.
