\nIt tipped over slightly and the handlebar hit the tank hard\u2014it dented.
\nWe could paint it or replace it, but we went with the latter. We’ll install a stopper to limit the steering angle.<\/p>\n

\nSince it won’t be ridden as-is, we cut the ears the same way with an air saw.<\/p>\n

\nThe lever seems too good to waste, so let’s put it back and reuse it.<\/p>\n

\nThe brake pedal bolt is bent, so we’ll replace it with a grade 12.9 bolt to improve durability.<\/p>\n

\nThe fairing is loose, so we’ll switch to fasteners for a dress-up and better serviceability.<\/p>\n

\nAdding trim to areas prone to scratching is a good idea. You can work without worrying about removal, and serviceability improves too. Trim with adhesive backing or double-sided tape will dirty the fairing, so it’s better to use trim with metal inside.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s hard to get into neutral, so we made a test piece from scrap and lengthened it by about 5 mm. Since it’s a test piece, the finish is rough.
\nAt a traffic light, you want to go from first to neutral, but it’s more like second\u2192first\u2192second\u2192first?
\nWe thought the longer stroke might feel off, but it actually worked quite well. Let’s have you check it out.
