\nWe want to determine the handlebar lock position and stopper. Since pressing in the bearing is a hassle, we’ll make a dummy bearing from Delrin to check the fit.<\/p>\n

\nWe’ll cut a groove with a number 0 end mill. It’s a small mill, but it makes all the difference.<\/p>\n

\nIt cut beautifully. If we mess up, there’s no going back, so we’re always nervous during this work. Post-processing of parts is charged as “risk + labor”.<\/p>\n

\nThe material still had its skin on it, so we sanded it smooth to make it uniform, then sent it to Coken for black anodizing.<\/p>\n

\nIt came back, so we’ll install it. As expected, they didn’t dye the press-fit areas. We’re grateful for outsourcing partners who do this kind of thing without being asked.<\/p>\n

The handlebar stopper tip also gets an R finish and sits flush with the surface.<\/p>\n

\nWe’ll go with steel for peace of mind even if it bends. Lately, “electroless nickel” bolts are commonly available, which is a lifesaver.<\/p>\n

\nWe used an aluminum stem nut from the GS1200SS. It’s a genuine part, and the lightening is nicely done\u2014very good.<\/p>\n
