\nSince I love cowls, let’s install the cowl I was using on the GSF1200.<\/p>\n

\nWe’ll use the stock turn signals. I want to install them to look stock at first glance.
\nI punched out the holes with a press, shaped them, and welded them. As always, my welding is rusty, so it’s a bit rough for now.<\/p>\n

\nOnce fixed, it looks like this. Due to time constraints, it’s a bit plain, so please bear with me. If it were for a customer, I’d refine it a bit more.<\/p>\n

\nAll the fasteners are clean. Since I’m super lazy, I can’t imagine my own bike any other way than fastener attachment and detachment.<\/p>\n

\nI’ll fabricate brackets for the left and right sides of the cowl. The slightly twisted rib shape looks nice?<\/p>\n

\nWhen installed, it looks like this. Ideally, it would have been easier if we could use the existing brackets. The headlight seems to protrude slightly forward compared to the Impulse, so it would contact and can’t be used as is. So I’m extending it a bit.<\/p>\n

\nThe horn also contacts, so I’ll move it toward the stem side to keep it stock-looking.<\/p>\n

Subjectively, I’ve adjusted it so the chin is slightly tucked and it doesn’t look goofy.<\/p>\n

Occasionally I get inquiries about installing a cowl because wind pressure is tough, but it makes handling heavier and can potentially cause high-speed wobble if done poorly. A frame mount would be better, but with a steering mount, the cosmetic effect might be the strongest aspect.
