Number 1 engine side. All the others are in the same condition with dirt and debris accumulated from backfiring and similar issues.<\/p>\n

Starter valve. The type with a center positioning pin tends to last quite a while, but it can only be replaced when all four are disassembled, so we’ll replace it.<\/p>\n

Fuel bypass for 1\u20132 and 3\u20134. This is a part with no individual O-ring option. It’s already cracked. Good timing to replace it.<\/p>\n

Fuel T-type bypass for 2\u20133. A cylindrical seal with a two-stage O-ring assembly. This one is cracking too.<\/p>\n

With a 2006 Bandit in this condition, a GSX-R1100 is already in dangerous territory.<\/p>\n

Like new? It’s become even more beautiful than new. OEM negative-pressure carburetors have very weak small-parts availability. Many items like a single bolt or a single seal don’t come out. This is definitely work that can hurt if you’re not careful.<\/p>\n

Jumping ahead a bit, we run fuel through and check the actual fuel level.<\/p>\n

If there’s no particular problem, you don’t need to look, but checking gives you peace of mind.<\/p>\n

The fuel hose is different shapes top and bottom. I wonder what that’s supposed to mean every time I see it.<\/p>\n
