\nFirst, we remove the standard camshaft. It’s in excellent condition with no scoring.<\/p>\n

\nIt looks like the IN#3 cam and head were making light contact for some reason. I got worried when the tappet cap wouldn’t come off.<\/p>\n

\nSince there’s a possibility the cam might contact, I’ll verify it separately.<\/p>\n

\nThe intake side is pretty risky. I’ll smooth it out lightly.<\/p>\n

\nI’ll remove only the bare minimum.

\nThis much clearance should be fine.<\/p>\n

\nI’ll measure the valve timing. Basically, I don’t deviate from Yoshimura’s specifications. That’s the safe approach.<\/p>\n

\nThe measuring rod keeps getting sharper. Newer models must be pretty tough to work with…<\/p>\n

\nBy the way, this time I didn’t use elongated holes in the sprocket, and it worked perfectly on the first try. That said, Yoshimura cams rarely deviate that much. It’s definitely a reliable product. As for elongated holes, they make me a bit… worried, don’t they? I mean, how can just two M7 bolts really hold it? I worry about it every time. I’m a chronic worrier, I guess.<\/p>\n
