\nSince it’s been a while since we’ve run it, let’s keep things within budget and not too painful.<\/p>\n

\nStarting from the front. The wheel bearings are still good to use.<\/p>\n

\nThe front caliper is rusty, but it’s working well enough.<\/p>\n

\nThe disk has quite a bit of step wear, but we’ll replace it later.<\/p>\n

\nAfter cleaning and oiling, it looks like it’ll still be fine. The steering is pretty rough, so we’ll loosen it up and gloss over it.<\/p>\n

\nThe hub damper is rattling, so we’ll replace it.<\/p>\n

\nThe bearings will continue to be used.<\/p>\n

\nWe’ll replace the pads. Surprisingly, they’re not the same as the Katana pads.<\/p>\n

\nDirty and stuck piston… this is tough. In cases like this, the best approach is to loosen the bleeder, drain the fluid, and refill it.<\/p>\n

\nThe color and viscosity look a bit off…<\/p>\n

\nWe polished and sprayed this area too.<\/p>\n

\nAn old-style cupless design. You’d never see this on a street bike. And that long hose looks shabby, so we’re getting rid of it.<\/p>\n

\nAnd it’s attached with double-sided tape… they clearly never thought about removing it. What a hassle.
\nPeeling off this double-sided tape takes a fair amount of time. Zip ties would actually be better.<\/p>\n
