\nThis is the stem bearing. The condition was excellent. It’s remarkable that Suzuki has used the same bearing dimensions all the way from the GS1000 era\u2014great engineering, really. High compatibility means both users and the manufacturer benefit. That’s the kind of motorcycle you want to work on.<\/p>\n

\nAfter pressing the race onto the frame side, it’s best to verify it visually. Each step done carefully and correctly is what gradually brings the bike to a truly normal, standard condition.<\/p>\n

\nWith the bearing installed, we check how well the lower and upper seals are working. I don’t think any of them are overly tight, but some other manufacturers do have models where they are. If you don’t know where the resistance is coming from, you can’t really judge whether the steering is good or bad. The same goes for the layout of harnesses and cables.<\/p>\n

\nNeutech NC100 grease\u2014despite its consistency, it’s soft, and its white color makes it easy to see and inspect. Since the frame gets hot, the grease can liquefy from the heat and flow out, which quickly degrades the bearing condition. But this grease maintains very stable performance.<\/p>\n
