\nApparently the engagement point sometimes varies quite a bit\u2014sometimes much earlier, sometimes much later\u2014and it’s not stable.
\nIf it’s never been replaced, this is definitely a spot worth replacing. It’s a critical area for clutch operation. When the clutch feels right, you can focus entirely on riding.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s in condition appropriate for its age. There’s no severe step wear. It looks more like rust or the cup has become encrusted.<\/p>\n

\nHmm, it’s strange\u2014this discoloration isn’t actually rust, so why does it look like this?<\/p>\n

\nThe cup has an umbrella-like shape and receives hydraulic pressure, so it can compensate to some degree even if it shrinks a bit. But it works better when it’s at its original size, with less strain.<\/p>\n

\nLeft is NEW, right is OLD\u2014they’re like completely different parts. Just looking at them, you’d think this replacement is going to make a real difference.<\/p>\n

\nThe inside has been polished too, so it might be in even better condition than brand new.
\nSince we can’t measure the inner diameter at the shop, we judge it by feel with our finger.<\/p>\n
