\nThe rear brake feel is off and the stopping power isn’t great, so I’ll clean the seal-related parts.
\nThere’s some slight swelling, but I wonder if this is normal\u2026<\/p>\n

I’m not really a fan of just replacing everything with new parts, but I can’t find any other cause.<\/p>\n

\nCCI metal rubber was also included. DOT 5 silicone-based fluid works too, apparently.<\/p>\n

\nAt first glance there’s nothing obviously wrong, but\u2026 well, new it is\u2026<\/p>\n

\nI’ll give it a light polish. Be careful not to over-polish, as that makes it rust more easily.<\/p>\n

\nSeal inspection complete for safety. The brake feel has improved.
\nInitially the hydraulic pressure was inconsistent\u2014sometimes there, sometimes not\u2014and the rear caliper piston seal rollback was excessive, with the piston retracting too far.
\nAssuming “spongy feel = air in the system” is too simplistic.<\/p>\n

\nThe light comes on and off\u2026 then stops coming on\u2026 there’s continuity but no illumination.
\nHigh resistance = failure, right? I’m torn between going with a hydraulic switch or playing it safe with a mechanical one.
