\nThere was a little play in the steering, so I adjusted it.<\/p>\n<\/a>
\nGrease ages over time, so let’s clean it thoroughly and replace it when the time comes. When there’s lubrication, both the lever and body wear less, which is ultimately more economical and lets you keep things in good condition for longer.<\/p>\n
\nThe brake side looks relatively new. Brake and clutch lever pin bolts are stepped in theory, but due to tolerances, tightening them can make the lever action stiff. Let’s use a lock nut instead so there’s minimal play and smooth operation.<\/p>\n
\nRear brake pedal. This isn’t something you remove often. When the operation and return feel smooth in this area, it’s really satisfying. If you swap the cotter pin for a beta pin, the next service will go smoothly.<\/p>\n<\/a>
\nThe shift side comes apart easily, which is nice. It’s good to check the crimped ball joints too.

\nI clean it and apply a light coat of engine oil. This should reduce handlebar wear as well.<\/p>\n
\nRemove the dust seal and moisturize with fork oil and such. You’d be surprised how much dirt comes out.
\nMoisturize the inner tube and lubricate the dust and oil seals\u2014this reduces inner tube friction and makes a real difference in longevity.<\/p>\n
\nI’ll oil and adjust the side stand. The side stand is essential, and I think it deserves more attention than it usually gets.<\/p>\n<\/a> <\/a>
\nThe base and inner dimensions show the current clearance. I usually adjust to around\u2014mm. That amount of clearance feels just right. Too much play wears both the base and stand, which isn’t good.<\/p>\n<\/a>
\nI gave it a light coat. It’s like polishing a fine leather shoe. I didn’t add a washer because of the thread pitch. For critical fasteners that could cause trouble if they fall out, let’s replace the lock nut whenever possible.<\/p>\n
\nThe air filter is still good at this condition, so I’ll reuse it. The box inside is clean too, which is reassuring.<\/p>\n
\nThe plugs are burning well. Number 3 is a bit wet.<\/p>\n
