\nRegular cotton swabs work fine, but using industrial ones and cleaning the inside too increases reliability.
\nJust washing and air blowing isn’t quite enough. Depending on the spot, a carburetor reamer is effective too.<\/p>\n

\nAs expected, the Mikuni vacuum carb is the strongest? I’m fitting the BST original hyper nozzle. (I’ve been using it from before but haven’t been able to test ride it yet.)<\/p>\n

\nBy the way, this is information that doesn’t help the work at all. Since the overall length is the same, the GSF1200 layout can be shifted. I’m not sure if supply becomes an issue, but since it’s mine, I’m moving it to the right side.
\nThe fuel hose is cleaner layout and easier to attach and detach when it’s farther from the petcock.<\/p>\n

\nI went with the right layout. With the GSF you can fit three ports too.<\/p>\n

\nNo need to check. If you do check, you start seeing all sorts of unnecessary things. You can even visually see the fuel level shift due to carb tilt.<\/p>\n

\nDo you really need a remote? A carburettor adjust screw? It’s hard to find one that’s just right.
\nThe smaller displacement Bandit’s is slightly short too. The TMR is long. I hunted through other original ones but couldn’t find anything really good.
\nI happened to have a Bandit 1200 K4 one in stock carbs, and when I tried it… hmm, better! So I decided to use it. First I preheat the float chamber, then weld it briefly so it doesn’t warp.<\/p>\n

\nThe tip is too short, so I weld this part too without burning it.<\/p>\n

\nHonestly, plate bolt fixing looks uncool. Ideally it would be a plastic clip-lock, but… this is the limit.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s looking good. One way and another, the “Original Carburettor Maintenance + (OH) \u00b7 Carburettor Polishing” job ended up taking a full day.<\/p>\n
