\nRecently passed inspection on this CBR600F4I\u2014brake disc and pad replacement and other work.<\/p>\n

\nOriginal brake disc. Sunstar didn’t have a replacement option, so we went ahead and swapped it out while we had the chance.<\/p>\n

\nA torque wrench is necessary, but you also need the feel of hand-tightening. If you could just use a torque wrench and pass the buck, that’d be easy. We have a torque wrench tester and check it one or two times a year. I wonder if there’s a tester for the torque wrench tester. Overconfidence leads to complacency, so we stay careful.<\/p>\n

\nThe tightness of the axle changes how heavy the rotation feels, so we make a small adjustment. It’s not just about replacing it and calling it done\u2014positioning it where it moves smoothly lets it perform at its best.<\/p>\n

\nThe dirt buildup is pretty moderate.<\/p>\n

\nWhen cleaning the caliper, I almost never use a toothbrush. I find it faster to apply plenty of cleaner in one stroke.<\/p>\n

\nFor the inside, I use a round brush\u2014a decent one that costs a few thousand yen. Cheap ones shed bristles and wear out fast, so they end up costing more in the long run.<\/p>\n
