But the day before yesterday, the pin broke just one minute after starting\u2014a sad turn of events.<br \/>\nStarting yesterday evening, I&#8217;ve been making pins. I thought chrome vanadium used in tools and such would be perfect, but&#8230; it broke.<br \/>\nEven when I made it with different wall thickness&#8230; it broke.<\/p>\n<p>I happened to have an SUS304 low-head cap, so I tested using that as a base, and surprisingly it flexes without breaking&#8230;<br \/>\nSo this morning I machined round stock and made the pin, fitting it precisely multiple times, and we finally got it working.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-59492\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/DSC_5885.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_5885\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/11\/DSC_5885.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/11\/DSC_5885-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/11\/DSC_5885-624x416.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><br \/>\nIt now works with inner diameter 9\u03c6 and 2mm wall thickness too.
