\nThe engine wouldn’t start, so we picked it up.<\/p>\n

\nA large amount of fuel had leaked into the crankcase, and it took considerable time to drain and flush it.
\nThe overall condition was quite severe.<\/p>\n

\nThe jets and needles were seized solid\u2014quite something. When clogging reaches this level, there are passages that even a carburetor cleaner can’t reach, so care is needed.<\/p>\n

\nI had a junk electric rice cooker on hand, so I added detergent and tried cooking the carb parts in it.<\/p>\n

\nWow\u2014it came out much cleaner than I expected. I was amazed.<\/p>\n

\nThe fuel passage O-rings were in poor condition and leaking, so ultimately four of them came apart.
