\nThe steering stem shows no signs of previous disassembly, but it’s completely dry\u2014no lubrication at all.<\/p>\n

\nWe polished it and cleaned it up. It looks much refreshed.<\/p>\n

\nLet’s clean inside the pipe too.<\/p>\n

\nWe replaced the races and confirmed them visually.<\/p>\n

\nWe packed it with Newtech NC100 grease. Grease starvation causes the most damage. Too much grease creates resistance, and if the grease is too stiff, it becomes sluggish. On the other hand, if there’s too little, the frame heats up and grease leaks from the lower seal.
\nAfter trying various options, this grease has proven to be the best balance.<\/p>\n
