\nLet’s upgrade to a Sunstar brake disc.<\/p>\n

\nBasic bolt-on setup. It uses modern BD material and works well with a variety of brake pads.
\nThe aggressive hole pattern enhances cleaning effect and contributes to weight reduction.<\/p>\n

\nAfter just a light test ride, the squealing has completely disappeared. I’m curious to see how it performs once it’s fully bedded in.<\/p>\n

\nSince there may be various types, it’s reassuring to measure first.<\/p>\n

\nIt suddenly became sharper and the appearance improved as well.

\nWhen replacing the disc, we definitely want to replace the pads too. Let’s clean everything while we’re at it.<\/p>\n

\nDimensionally there were no issues, but when doing a trial fit, the disc sticks out about 1 mm.<\/p>\n

\nUsing the chain side as reference, we push the caliper outward with a spacer. Newly fabricated from A7075.<\/p>\n

\nSince the seal contacts it, we went with hard anodizing.<\/p>\n
