\nFor Suzuki bikes, removal takes 30 minutes. Bearing extraction takes another 30 minutes. After that, nearly three hours\u2014cleaning and reassembly are time-consuming.<\/p>\n

The oil is well-applied, so we can feel confident.<\/p>\n

\nChain buffer? The slider can only be replaced when the swingarm is removed, so it’s definitely a part we want to replace.
\nWe clean everything and reassemble the bearings.<\/p>\n

\nSince the swingarm fits inside, there’s naturally some play. We tighten the shaft and flex the frame to eliminate the play.
\nSome 1100M\/N and newer pivots have adjustment built in. It’s a well-thought-out design.
\nWe insert shims to adjust the width so the frame doesn’t bear unnecessary stress, achieving smooth movement with minimal play in all directions.
\nWhether to insert shims equally on both sides or favor one side, and how that affects the chain line\u2014these are the kinds of decisions we wrestle with every time.<\/p>\n

The GS1200SS and Inazuma 1200 are especially loose. When lifted, the swingarm rattles side to side. This looseness might be one reason water gets in and rust develops.

\n<\/a> We also replace the wheel bearings and hub damper. The chain and sprocket have already been replaced.<\/p>\n
