\n<\/a>I’ll replace the starter valve too. If the engine runs rough and pushing the choke hard by hand improves it, that’s the culprit.
\nSince it’s only held by a spring, even a little tension boost can work as a quick fix.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>I’ll lubricate it lightly with gasoline-resistant grease to boost storage life and help prevent seal degradation.
\nI’m replacing the float valve. Rubber-type ones don’t wear much, so it’s a part you want to replace only after checking\u2014especially since they’re surprisingly expensive and there are four of them, which really adds up.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>I always wonder if the float level and actual fuel level don’t match because the float is O-ring supported.
\nBasically everything was high, so I lowered it.
\nThen I need to watch the actual fuel level constantly to see if it changes. That’s how you can tell how well the float valve is closing.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>Vacuum is nice and easy. It’s become extremely smooth from the bottom, or rather back to how it should be\u2026
\nBikes that were running rough have more room for improvement, so it feels better to work on them.<\/p>\n

The throttle cable was worn, so I replaced it too. All done.<\/p>\n
