\n<\/a>Unbelievable\u2014only 2,000 kilometers! The damper still had plenty of tension.<\/p>\n

\nThe generator damper is in quite good condition too, with little sign of wear.<\/p>\n

\nNo sludge at all\u2014it’s amazing how it looks like brand new parts being assembled.<\/p>\n

\nThe cam chain was a bit slack, so I tightened it. Cam chains don’t stretch uniformly all the way around.
\nOver-tensioning increases friction and puts stress on various parts. A loose chain means the valve timing is constantly shifting with throttle opening and closing. That said, it’s only a few degrees.
