\nWe’re not fans of seal tape, so we checked.<\/p>\n

\nConfirmed. I’ve never seen seeping unless something really unusual happens. What’s happening is that residual fluid gets pressurized when the cap is installed and comes out from the side.
\nSo wrapping seal tape around the bleeder is pretty questionable in my opinion.
\nAfter tightening the bleeder, spray brake cleaner (preferably one that dissolves fluid) into the hole.
\nThen wrap a rag around it and blow air from the gun until nothing comes out anymore, and you won’t get any seeping.
\nFluid changes are pretty tedious, you see.<\/p>\n

It’s like the saying “I got poop on my pants, but… \u21d2 that’s because you didn’t wipe thoroughly enough.”<\/p>\n

\nWhen it’s anodized, the seal groove doesn’t corrode and bubble up as easily, which is helpful. Some contamination probably gets into the dust seal backing during caliper cleaning too.<\/p>\n
