\nThere’s definitely a strong feeling it might snap, but since it’s still steel, even if it breaks we can still recover.<\/p>\n

\nThe inside of #2 and #3 was in pretty bad shape, but we managed to extract them safely.
\nWhen loosening, you’ll hear a squeaking sound like “squeak! squeak! squeak!” so apply lubricant and work the tap by repeatedly loosening and tightening in a controlled manner until it comes free\u2014this way you don’t waste unnecessary effort.<\/p>\n

“Breaking takes a second, removing takes a day”\u2014extracting a broken bolt can end up costing more than the Fire Spec itself.<\/p>\n

\nA bolt with no grease residue. That said, I was impressed by nickel’s excellent corrosion resistance.
\nStainless steel works too, but it’s safer to apply molybdenum or copper-based heat-resistant lubricant thoroughly for plenty of protection.<\/p>\n
