\n<\/a>The bike we serviced before has finally come back, and we’re doing a recheck. It has good elasticity and the wear is smooth.
\nThe black dirt in the grooves is Newtech NC100 grease.
\n\u2022 Prevent the damper groove shape’s contact area from thinning out the case
\n\u2022 Protect against gravel and other debris entering the grooves
\n\u2022 Keep the damper from hardening even slightly due to the grease’s oil content
\nWe’ve been doing this for quite a while now.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>The case is smooth and in pretty good condition. We felt satisfied with the results of the work.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>We pack it in with a squish, then spread it around the entire circumference.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>There’s barely any cam scuffing, and this is what the larger areas look like.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>We could tell from the oil level gauge, but there’s quite a bit of sludge and it’s pretty dirty.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>The cam chain tensioner is this automatic type. Though to be more precise, it works by having this spring tension push when the chain loosens.
\nUnless it gets really slack, it won’t push, so we check the balance and adjust as needed.
\nLooser is safer than too tight, and considering that the chain doesn’t stretch uniformly everywhere, we check and adjust accordingly.<\/p>\n
