\n<\/a>We’ll replace the damper and wheel bearings. Wheel dampers don’t cost much, so it’s worth keeping in mind to replace them when you’re doing tire work or rear disk replacement, or bundling them with other jobs.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>For bearings, the presence or absence of lubricant is critical. Double-sealed grease that resists dirt and doesn’t fling out seems like the right balance.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>When you spin the wheel collar and oil seal by hand, you feel a surprising stiffness.
\nThe steel in the wheel collar and similar parts wears down with such effective engagement that once it’s broken in, it’s worn. So let’s break it in from the start.
\nCertainly, we want to avoid contamination from dirt and rainwater. The seal on the wheel bearing side provides sufficient protection.
\nI can’t recommend it for those who ride on muddy or extreme rough roads, but with adjustments suited to your use, I think it’s effective.<\/p>\n
