\n<\/a>Chrome tanks show scratches when you use them, but they still look really cool, you know?<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>Paint stripping \u2192 buffing and polishing \u2192 chrome plating (gas tanks are really unpopular because of weight and oil residue issues) \u2192 rust-proofing coating on the inside
\nWhen you strip the paint, putty can come out, so it can be rough sometimes\u2014watch out for that.
\nI’ve seen some spray-on stuff lately that looks like chrome, but I’m not sure how well it actually works.
\nWe used vacuum deposition chrome and nano AG a long time ago, and while they gave a finish close to real chrome, they didn’t have quite the same solid, substantial feel as the real thing.
\nI’m sure they’ve gotten much better lately.
