\n<\/a>If you notice oil leaking from around the sprocket cover, suspect the shift oil seal. (It happens pretty often.)<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>It’s a common symptom, or rather, since it’s an oil seal, it’s not something that lasts forever. Seals wear out with use, and leaking is inevitable.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>With the right tools, it comes off in a snap.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>Insert the oil seal parallel to avoid damaging the lip. Since it’s a rubber-to-metal press fit, it will go in by hand, so take it slow and gentle.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>The throttle has some oil content but runs a bit thick. Engine oil should do the job fine. There are some good spots for lubricating the cable too, but I’ll keep it simple here.<\/p>\n
