Honestly, it’s a bit thin…<br \/>\nThe relationship between the brake caliper position and the wheel position turned out to be surprisingly tricky…<br \/>\nAt least it fit, and I’m glad. <br \/> <br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/imp\/492574_10353904_2.jpg\" \/><br \/> <br \/>Last night, inspiration struck…<br \/>\nThe thread pitch on a freewheel cassette is the same as on a track cog.<br \/>\nI thought the distance from the wheel center to the thread pitch would also be the same… but they’re completely different…<br \/>\nFreewheel cassette = threaded section with minimal protrusion (small offset)<br \/>\nTrack = threaded section with more protrusion (large offset)<br \/>\nWhen you think about it, that makes sense…<br \/>\nAs the number of cogs increases, the cassette gets thicker, so you have to push it inward\u2014that’s essential.<br \/>\nSo… what to do?<br \/>\nI went with just fitting the freewheel cassette in for now. The 6-speed feels surprisingly good \u2605<br \/>\nThe 8-speed Reyna I had on hand felt a bit tight.<br \/>\nIf I had time, I could make an adapter that goes from freewheel cassette to track cog, which would work fine, so this is temporary for now. <br \/> <br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/imp\/492574_10353904_3.jpg\" \/><br \/> <br \/>The brake area is done\u2014cleaned and adjusted the tension on the ZIPP-specific coil spring \u2605<br \/>\nThe rear is bottom-pull mounted.
