Today the steering head locked up nicely \u2605

When everything goes all loose and droopy, it puts strain on the harnesses, hoses, and wires,
\nso it’s safer to be as gentle as possible.
 
\n
 
I see! There’s quite a bit of oil residue.
\nBut the feel when riding and when pushing didn’t seem very good, though\u2026
 
\n
 
It’s heavily corroded.
 
\n
 
The corrosion has eaten it full of holes \u2605
\nWhen there’s plenty of grease, the oil makes corrosion less likely,
\nbut water inevitably gets mixed in.
\nIn the end it becomes a water-and-oil situation, and corrosion quietly progresses,
\nso we end up disassembling, cleaning, replacing the grease, and swapping out bearings.
\nSteering stem, swingarm\/linkage area, and wheel bearings\u2014
\nbroadly speaking, just these three spots!
\nSurprisingly few, really.

We snap it in and do a visual check one-two
 
\n
 
I think, “Aha!”
 
\n
 
And it’s running beautifully and nimble now \u2605 Test ridden

We also adjusted the fork oil settings.

They asked me to do something about the ETC antenna \u2605
\nWell, it certainly is built pretty robustly, but it’s excessive and pointless rigidity.
