So this is the GSX-R1100N that already has its inspection completed.
\nMan, this bike brings back memories.

The HID from Kero arrived, either to be shipped directly or installed.
\nThe address says “Kashiwa \u25ce Tadako”???
\nThat’s not right, is it? Hmm?
\nDing! It’s us!
\nBased on painful experience, we decline to install cheap Chinese knockoff products at our shop \u2605
\nPIAA is fine though.

When I opened the box…
\nWow\u2014how much stuff is packed in here? This is rough.

Remove the headlight and measure the depth first, they said…
\nToo much hassle, so I’ll just go ahead.

For some reason, the upper flange won’t seat all the way in? ? ?
\nIt’s not touching the lens though…
\nI stare at it carefully… and then it clicks!
 
\n
 
The flange is standing up even more,
\nand the HID unit has a higher step, so that’s what’s making contact.
 
\n
 
Burned it again… I still can’t quite get the hang of welding \u2605
\nRound off the flange nut head a bit, tap tap tap.
\nEach unit has to go somewhere \u2605
\nIf I just zip-tie it, that becomes DIY…
\nSo I’ll mock it up first with the goals of “easy to place, hard to see from outside, and clean wiring.”
\nLet me put the two biggest units in front of the battery case first…

\nI try not to make it a perfect rectangle, aesthetically speaking?
\nA neat rectangle is surprisingly hard to pull off, so going geometric tricks the eye \u2605
\nElectrical components are best mounted floating when possible.
