Here we go again, picking up where we left off the other day! \u2605
\nThe sidestand bracket was secured with a pop nut…
\nWhen I reinstalled it with the sidestand reversal plan, the torque wouldn’t hold and\u2014goodbye!
\nThere’s only about 80 mm of clearance straight down, so I was in a bind.
\nIf I’m going to modify and reinstall it, I’d like to move it to the front like the current style.
\nBut there’s no end to it, so…

Thinking “there’s no way I can work in such a tight space,” I turned to my last resort:
\n“Google Sensei”
\nI searched for “pop nut tool”
\n“Little Pop Nutter”
\nWhat I found seemed… okay? I mean, is this really a legit tool? Sorry for the doubt.
\nEven watching the video, it looked pretty sketchy…
\nHow does it keep the nut from spinning?
\nI had question after question…

But wow, it’s really well thought out! \u2605
\nThose shallow grooves grip really well.
 
\n
 
Normally, we’d crimp with a tool like this: \u2605

Now we can repair even in really tight spaces:

\nI’m not sure if it’s the pop nutter’s design or what, but the tightening feel is excellent too! \u2605
\nNo sense of “oh no, is it going to spin?” either.
\nThe tightening came out “click-perfect!” \u2605

OEM parts really are well designed. Beautiful.

I’ll insert it from below.
\nOn bikes where we’ve done front-end maintenance, we don’t like to loosen the top center nut except for adjustment, service, or twist issues. \u2605

I also put in a fresh air filter, and after a test ride, we’re done! !!
