My sense of what day it is seems completely off lately~
\nDoesn’t feel like Saturday at all\u2605

The customer said the handlebar was rattling, so I checked it\u2605
\nThe plate-type damper on the bottom is also worn down, and
 
\n
 
the damper pressed into the handlebar
\nHey there\u2026 isn’t that sticking out a bit too much?
 
\n
 
When I pushed it with my finger, it came right out\u2026
\nSo it probably came out when the handlebar was lifted?
\nIt has a flange, so it barely stayed in place
 
\n
 
By the way, this damper is discontinued and no longer available.
\nIt looked easy to remove, but\u2026
\nOnly the outer ring remains, and it’s pressed in flush against the end face,
\nso removal is a real pain\u2605
\nIf I don’t secure it properly before removing it,
\nI could bend the handlebar, and since it’s been buffed, I need to be extremely careful\u2026
\nI’ve never seen a similar damper with an outer diameter of 20mm and M10 fastening.
\nThere’s an M8 version, but I’ve had failures with it before, so that’s out.

So I’ll fire up our shop’s pride and joy\u2014the little lathe\u2014and make a press-fit collar.

Press it in with a little pop and we’re done\u2605
